Marching and Meeting for Safer Chemicals: My Trip to DC


In Washington D.C. sometimes a mom with a stroller shouting for safer chemicals is what's needed to shake things up a bit. And that is exactly what more than 200 parents, cancer survivors, nurses and advocates did this week at the U.S. Capitol. The goal? Put much-needed toxic chemical reform top on Congress's to do list.  

Michigan Coalition Puts Toxic Chemical Reform Top on Congress’s To Do List

A coalition of environmental and public health advocates are meeting with members of Michigan’s congressional delegation today to call for much-needed updates to federal chemical safety laws, which have not changed in almost 40 years. Advocates hail from the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, the Ecology Center, Moms Clean Air Force, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and the Learning Disabilities Association of Michigan.

“Innovation in Conservation” Debuts in Detroit Tonight

Michigan LCV will present “Innovation in Conservation,” the inaugural awards dinner for the organization, tonight at 6:00 PM at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit.

Clear Fixes To Make Fracking Safer Warrant Action

Michigan LCV joined with the Michigan Environmental Council, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council, Alliance for the Great Lakes, Natural Resources Defense Council and the National Wildlife Federation to highlight clear fixes to fill holes in clean water protections in response to the Graham Institute’s Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Reports.
