Listen Here Live to Gubernatorial Forum at Central Michigan University

Tonight's the night of the first Gubernatorial Forum of Michigan's election season. Tune in here at 7 p.m. for audio of the forum, to be held at Central Michigan University's Plachta Auditorium in Mount Pleasant. On the bill are governor candidates Rick Snyder, Tom George and Virg Bernero

Alma Wheeler Smith also committed to the forum, but has since dropped out of the race.

The nonpartisan Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Michigan's Economic and Environmental Future is sponsored by the Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, Detroit Free Press, Michigan Radio and ConservAmerica.

Tuesday was the filing deadline for the governor's race. Those to meet the deadline include Snyder, George and Bernero, along with candidates who have declined to participate in tonight's discussion: Mike Bouchard, Mike Cox, Pete Hoekstra, and Andy Dillon.

Besides the audio embedded above, you can follow the Michigan LCV on Twitter for updates and snippets of tonight's discussion at the auditorium, located inside Warriner Hall. Directions to the venue are on the CMU website

The forum also is being broadcast live on Michigan Radio, played on statewide public television and streamed live at the Free Press and Michigan Radio websites.

The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. No signs, posters or banners will be permitted.

Others sponsors include Bell's Brewery Inc., BluewaterWind, Michigan Environmental Council, Waste Management, Miller Canfield, The Engineering Society of Detroit, Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice, Michigan Press Association, Michigan Recreation & Park Association, and The Political Winery.
