Michigan LCV Endorses Kim Russell for State Senate

Kim Russell

The Michigan League of Conservation Voters is proud to endorse Kim Russell in her campaign for State Senate in the 12th District. Her positions on the environment are a welcome change from the current office holder, Senator Mike Bishop, and his overwhelmingly negative environmental actions as in Lansing. His score on Michigan LCV’s latest scorecard was an abysmal 0%.

Kim Russell was endorsed by Michigan LCV because of her experience as an entrepreneur in green small business ventures and her positive stances on important environmental issues as determined by her thorough answers on Michigan LCV’s extensive questionnaire.

“We are proud to endorse Kim Russell for State Senate because she truly understands that green business is good business, and good business means more jobs for her constituents,” said Lisa Wozniak, Executive Director for Michigan LCV. “Kim’s proven leadership, within both her businesses and her community, give her the kind of experience and background that is sorely lacking in Lansing. Her vision for Michigan’s future, in which a strong environment supports a strong economy, is exactly what our state needs right now.”

“As a small business owner who is investing in green industry, I am well aware of the job creation potential this sector has for the thousands of voters I have been speaking to every day in this campaign,” said Kim Russell. “This endorsement by Michigan LCV only further highlights the fact that I will be bringing a fresh perspective to Lansing and that I will explore every avenue for bringing new jobs to this region. Not only will I work to create a friendlier business environment in our state, but I will create one that also improves the quality of life and overall health for all Michigan citizens.

Michigan LCV is a non-partisan, non-profit organization which seeks to turn environmental goals into legislative and community priorities by electing, educating, and holding officials accountable for their votes and actions. Michigan LCV’s Board includes a number of prominent Republicans such as Congressman Joe Schwarz, Grand Rapids attorney Bill Farr, and Rob Sisson, the President of Republicans for Environmental Protection.
