The results from Michigan's primary elections are in, and they're encouraging.

Voters have chosen to send Democrat Virg Bernero and Republican Rick Snyder to the November general election. Both candidates earned our endorsement in their respective party primaries.

The Detroit Free Press has called it for both candidates, and so has The Associated Press and The Detroit News
"Tonight is a good night for Michigan's environment and economy," said Ryan Werder, Political Director for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
"Michigan LCV endorsed both of these candidates because they represent the best chance for our state to renew its economy through green manufacturing and small businesses.
"Michigan citizens, on both sides of the ballot, have now set up a November election in which our Great Lakes and valuable natural resources can't lose.
"Both Rick Snyder and Virg Bernero represent the best their parties have to offer in terms of a vision for a clean energy economy in Michigan."
Congratulations to both candidates. As an organization, the Michigan LCV works to hold elected officials accountable for their votes and actions, and put the best candidates into office in the first place.
