The Michigan League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Sarah Roberts for State Representative in the 24th House District.

Roberts' strong track record of promoting conservation issues and environmental protections earned her the endorsement. Roberts’ district includes Harrison Township, St. Clair Shores and part of Grosse Pointe Shores.

“Sarah’s strong record on conservation issues earned her a 100 percent lifetime score on our Scorecard and the support of our members and others who value conservation measures,” said Lisa Wozniak, executive director for Michigan LCV.

“Sarah understands that this election is about creating jobs here in Michigan and that is why she is fighting for the development of green jobs and helping Michigan create a clean energy economy. There is no better way to rebuild Michigan’s workforce. With 109,000 green jobs in our state and skilled workers throughout Michigan, Macomb County is a perfect place to focus on green manufacturing jobs and building small business.”

Roberts added, "As a former community organizer with Clean Water Action, I know that protecting Michigan’s lakes and natural resources is important to our way of life. I know we need to diversify our economy and create a state where green business can grow and will help create thousands of jobs.

"Both Michigan LCV and I understand the enormous potential of the clean energy economy. By becoming the nation’s center for green technology, we can help get people back to work, revitalize our neighborhoods and improve our quality of life.”
