The Michigan LCV is proud to announce the election of Chris Kolb to the Michigan LCV board of directors. Chris is the President of the Michigan Environmental Council (MEC). The MEC is a coalition of more than 70 organizations, created in 1980 to lead Michigan’s environmental movement in achieving positive change through the political process.

Before assuming the presidency in 2009, Chris was an environmental champion during his six years as State Rep for the 53rd district, pushing for environmental legislation; including joint planning commissions, land bank authorities, lead poisoning prevention for children, and numerous land use initiatives.

A lifelong resident of Ann Arbor, Chris has spent years dedicating his time to public service. He has served on the Michigan Municipal League’s Transportation and Environmental Committee; the Washtenaw County Solid Waste Planning Commission; and served as Co-Chair of the Affordable Housing Task Force. His volunteer service is extensive, including many environmental, HIV/AIDS, civic and human rights, youth, hunger, gay & lesbian, housing, health care, veterans, and religious organizations.

Chris is a wonderful addition to our board and we thank our members for electing such a distinuished member of the environmental community.
