Second endorsement of the election season goes to proven conservationist with conservative credentials

GRAND RAPIDS --- The Michigan League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is proud to endorse Rob VerHeulen for State Representative in the 74th State House District.

VerHeulen's long record of support for the protection of the Great Lakes and Michigan's natural resources - and the billions of dollars from tourism, hunting, and fishing associated them - is a record that will greatly benefit Michigan if repeated in the State House. Those accomplishments, paired with his experience as a mayor who has led the region in management and access to preserved spaces makes him Michigan LCV's choice in this important district and competitive Republican primary.

"Rob VerHeulen displays exactly what Michigan conservationists are looking for in their elected officials," said Ryan Werder, Political Director for Michigan LCV. "He has a true passion for the Great Lakes and Michigan's natural resources that is born out of actually being in the woods and on the lakeshore. Even more, he has built a legacy of making those opportunities available to his constituents. We look forward to working with him in the Legislature to do the same on a statewide level."

It is the policy of Michigan LCV to issue limited endorsements in each electoral cycle, with each endorsement backed up with significant resources and the means by which to make a deep impact in the race. This is the second endorsement of the 2012 electoral cycle by Michigan LCV.

Michigan LCV is the political voice for Michigan’s Great Lakes, lands, air, and waters. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(4) organization with offices in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, and Royal Oak.
