Michigan LCV Calls on Michigan to Heed President Obama's Calls to Action on Energy, Climate Change

Michigan League of Conservation Voters (Michigan LCV) said President Obama’s State of the Union address set an example of strong leadership on clean energy and climate change. President Obama tied the recovery of Michigan’s automobile industry to increased fuel efficiency standards, and he called for action to address climate change now. Michigan LCV’s Executive Director, Lisa Wozniak, released this statement in response to the address:

“President Obama set an example of leadership on clean energy and climate change that should be matched in Michigan. Our state’s clean energy standards have improved public health, saved Michiganders money and created jobs, but they expire in 2015. We cannot afford to go backward on our progress so far. This year, the state legislature should take the President’s lead and put policy on the books that strengthens our investments in clean energy.”
