Policy Assistant

Kara is the Policy Assistant for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters and is based out of the Lansing office. Growing up in Lansing, Kara developed a passion for policy and politics and currently calls Grand Rapids home. In the spring of 2015, Kara graduated from Grand Valley State University where she received a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a focus on political thought and environmental policy. Prior to working for the Michigan LCV, she held the position of  President for the Grand Valley State College Democrats and gained experience through internships in legislative offices, on campaigns and at local environmental non-profit organizations in Lansing and Grand Rapids. Outside of work, Kara enjoys hiking, finding new places to eat, drinking Grand Rapids’ craft beer, volunteering and, most of all, going on adventures with her Blue Heeler, JD.
